Hey everyone how's it goin. I am sort of a newb when it comes to working out but I didnt start to get BIG I am mainly doing it because I want to get fast and strong. i am 18 years old 5'11 and 168 pounds. I run Track and Play CB in football.
Basically I just want to know what you guys think I should take to make me 1.Faster 2. Stronger (lean muscle gain etc..) 3. Endurance (for track) I have taken MRI NO2 and that is great but its WAy to expensive, I am also drinking ISOPURE protein which is really good and thats about it. I ordered the new Adenergy so i will let you know how that works out. Anyways, I am scared of phoromones m1t and all that, i probably don't need it at my age but I just want your OPINIONS on what I should take, remeber I am not trying to get HUGE just really athletic and pretty strong. Thanks for reading All that, looking foward to comments. |

I don't know as much as some ppl here, but here is waht I think.
Since you are only 18, I won't use prohormon like M1T if I were you. As to supplements to take, I would take good multivitamins, creatine, and protein. Make sure you will meet the protein daily requirment for your size and activity. You probably need around 180-200 gram of protein a day. Good luck. |

Good to see a smart kid out there. Your right about not taking ph/ps at your age. Your natural test levels are peaking between 18-21 years of age. You will be able to take advantage of that just by eating correctly. You don't really "need" any supplements at all. I have read though that creatine can help runners, so you may want to experiment with different kinds and brands...A circuit training routine in the gym may help with your endurance...

I grew like a weed in high school of creatine and HIGH amounts of protein. I remeber doing the old EAS GOLD STACK back in the day like in 1997 I think. I don't think you will see much from the adenergy, I know I did not, and I saw quite a bit from the NO prods unlike others. My overall advice is this:
don't worry about gaining weight as football workouts, cardio, etc.. should keep your weight down if that is what you are worried about for strength = try some if the prods I am linking at the bottom of the page for extra protein = beverly muscle provider for mrp's = prolab lean mass matrix (cinnamon oatmeal is awesome of course, a good multivitamin is essential -------------------- "Lets put the women and children to bed and go lookin' for dinner!"

If you like NO2, try OX from SAN. It a much better lactate acid buffer (helps with endurance). And from clinical studies on Citrulline (OX) vs Arginine AKG (NO2), 6g of Citrulline = 14g Arginine AKG. Plus OX is like 42 bucks for a 30 day supply. Also, drop the Isopure. Go with a less expensive protein. Most proteins now (like Optimum Nutrition and GNC Pro Performance) are less expensive but still have whey isolate in them. I personally like ON's because of the aminogen, lactase, and taste, but GNC's PP is less expensive, especially if you have a GC. I think we have the 6lb/94 serving jug on sale for like 33.00 (normally 41.99), with a gold card it's about 26. Either one will be good for you.

Don't purchase anything from GNC or any GNC products. They are pure crap and very overpriced. Most of the clerks there are idiots also. Don't purchase from there unless forced to at gunpoint!

I can't speak for other stores, but my GNC is not like that. Overpriced, of course. How else would you expect to make money? Somethings are way overpriced, I agree, but most aren't. ON's Adenergy, for example. 45.99 online, 54.95 at GNC. You get 20% off the first week of the month, so on something (not all) you come out almost as cheap as buying it online and paying shipping, without the wait. And, granted, there are a lot of idiot employess, I've worked with some you wouldn't believe, but most of us do try and help the customer as best we can. If we don't have it, I usually send them here. So don't go on a name calling spree just because you don't like something. We know our prices can't compete with wholesale stores, but we do what we can. As for GNC Pro Performance products... I personally think the company needs to step up and INNOVATE. Protein's aren't bad, but aren't the greatest. It is a newly re-vamped brand so they're trying (I think) to do what they can. And next time you meet an idiotic clerk, call customer service.

Come on, let's not let this turn into a pro/anti-GNC debate.
I don't think you'll beat the customer service here, though, and the prices are very tough to beat. I'd recommend you stick with a quality cheaper protein like Optimum's 100% Whey and possibly a creatine supp if you feel the need. If you're looking for endurance, you may be a good candidate for the newer citrulline malate products (OX, Stamin02, etc.). For your purposes, keep it simple; since you're just starting out, the bare essentials (protein, maybe creatine, multi) plus a couple little goodies are about all you'll need. -------------------- "I don't like people who take drugs...Customs men, for example." - Mitch Miller

I currently use optimum nutrition's creatine powder. It is only $16 for 600 grams. I just look for 100% pure micronized creatine monohydrate powder, which is usually what you find. I did try some liquid creatine a while back. It has all types of hype written on the bottle that makes it so much better than powder creatine but I didnt get any extra reps out of the liquid...couldnt even tell I took it exept for the throat burning from the liquid. It is also costs a lot more. I can definatley tell a difference when I cycle off of creatine powder but had nothing with the liquid.
