Hello, I posted this topic on another thread but just want more peoples opinion's as i have not recieved any info yet. Can anyone tell me the in's and out's of capping my own powder? Bottom line... Is it worth it and if so can you direct me to a place that I can read up on this and lean how to do this?

I believe there is an article called Bulk Powder Instructions that touches on this a bit as well as a couple of links at the bottom of the page.

Who the hell would do this? It's such a waste of time, so tedious, orals suck anyway, and if you have a scale, you can just eat the powder by itself.

I do this. Have you ever tasted 6-OXO powder? Its fucking disgusting. For the price of 2 bottles of 6 OXO I get almost 4 bottles worth in powder, I save quite a bit of money.

Tedious? I cap 50 at a time in under 10 minutes. Whats tedious about it? Its something I enjoy and prefer to do.

I do it too. A lot easier to make and take pills than to weigh up powder every day

What do you guys use to cap? Been wanting to do this as well but don't have a clue as to what in the hell to use to do it.

I always questioned why smokers would roll their cigs instead of just buy some. I guess the answer i got from them applies to why you guys do your own capping..cheaper..and enjoyable. Ill have to try it out sometime when i get around to getting the supplies.

Cap em Quick. I made my own, it takes a while but I do it when my brain gets numb from the TV

that is exactly why i posted this... i was looking at capping 6 oxo. i live in canada and i think this stuff is gold... its really expensive to just keep buying the bottles all the time.

you guys must get a kick out of the reaction of people seeing you do this...

So what does the cap em quick gizmo look like? Is it just a holder for the capsule and a little funnel or something?

Mine is 2 platforms, one drilled out to fit the size cap I use and the bottom is solid. The solid plat has 4 pins fixed at the outside edges and the carrying plate has holes drilled in the same place a little bigger than the pins so the carrying plate can slide up and down. I then made a spacer so that when assembled, the caps sit just below the top surface of the carrying plate while the caps rest on the bottom plate. I put 2 side rails on the edges to keep the powder and just run a credit card, etc. back and forth with the powder, loading the caps. Easier to buy but I'm cheap and run a one man machine shop (amongst other duties here) and it was a time filler during lunches.

FYI, we just released our house brand of empty gelcaps which are cheaper than the NOW version.

You also get 1000 of the "00" size, rather than NOW's 750.

I've rolled my own cigarettes, but it wasn't to save money. My brand just didn't come prepacked & rolled

Tommy, or you others that cap, do you use a tamper with yours (to pack more into a cap)?

Wondering if I need to bother with one or not, or if it makes a big difference.

I see that they have complete kits now, with 1000 caps, tamper and the Cap 'em Quick.

You are only going to get so much by pushing it into the caps. A tamper will allow you to pack far more powder in a cap.

I think I'm going to order the kit next week. Would save a good chunk of money by buying bulk green tea powder, plus could start capping the Alcar I have laying around.

Don't think I'll be capping my own fish oils though

Ahhhhhhh, just use a wine press for the fish.........
