okay before i get flamed here i want a small disclaimer. i know a lot of people complain about having "loose skin" after losing weight rapidly when they actually just still have more fat to lose, and it's not loose skin at all. that may be the case with me too.
i'm down about 30lbs of fat and most of it came off at the beginning of my extended cut, and i really only think i want to lose about 5 more (6'1, 185, approximately 12% body fat). my abs have definition but below my naval my stomach is by no means flat. in fact it seems like its mostly some paper thin skin there that i can grab hold of and pull outward, and it will hang slightly when im doing shit like pushups or banging my gf or what have you. i desperately want to flatten this out because it's really the only part of me that looks remotely fat now. i know you have to give loose skin time to tighten back up, and i'm young so i have no doubt it'll happen. what puzzles me is that it's really hard to get down to > 10% BF and it's taking me forever, so it really HAS been a while since i lost most of the fat (like five months or more) and i haven't been rapidly losing anymore weight. and still it hasn't tightened up. i work my core most of all in hopes that the extra muscle will help, but if it has i haven't noticed. i thought i'd ask because maybe some guys have had similar experiences and have some suggestions on what to do, minus plastic surgery or a girdle. and before you ask i'm taking the following supps: fish oil, cla, green tea, neovar creatine, on whey, gnc multi, ecy stack. |

there isnt a real solution aside from surgery. the only thing you can do is drastically change your body composition with weight training to build up some muscle to fill up the skin.
crash diets suck. you gotta lose weight slowly and gradually. were you incorperating resistance training with adequate protein consumption during this cut? -------------------- |

yeah, and i wouldnt call it a crash diet. i knew what i was doing, i lifted 3 days in a row and rested on the 4th day, took in about 150-200g a day. didn't really feel like waiting 3 years to be where i'm at, you know?

Everyones skin has a set amount of elasticity to it. Some peoples skin will tighten up after big changes in size, some won't.

i don't. maybe it's just that gnc brand cla sucks, i don't know, but i went through two huge bottles of it and i'm convinced it's a placebo. not that a placebo ever hurt anything. but honestly i think its effects are minimal.

I personally was my leanest running CLA. Its a very slow product in terms of results, I personally think its something geared more towards fine tuning, so people with lower body fat #s, as it help tighten up your ab area. -------------------- |

well really i think i've been at the point of just needing "fine tuning" for quite a while now. it really is only this pocket that's maybe 5 lbs, and my abs are visible. the stuff i used just didn't work very well for me. i'm still on the last part of a bottle so i'm still taking it, but i don't think i'll buy cla again. at least not from gnc.

You could snip it off and save it for later in case you or a loved one needs a skin graft later on.

Yeah, Joe Riggs (MMA fighter) Used to fight at 300 pounds then dropped to 170 to fight and he is RIPPED.. its really confusing how his skin could tighten up like that.. Then There are other fighters in the same situation like the not-so-successful welterweight Josh Haynes who dropped from the SAME 300 pounds and looks like he has Elephant ears hanging off his hips Different for everyone |
