That product is banned by most organizations. Most estrogen inhibitors are banned by athletic organizations and if not they will be soon.

I personally think that people with high testosterone counts should be banned....dang a-holes walking around the field with 2x the natural test of others....seriously, they say that the field of "competition" should be "fair", but some players have great natural advantages compared to others. maybe natual levels of test, and all other hormones, should be monitored.....
Anyways, yes they are related.....but Androdiol and dione were Prohormones(steroidal)....the trione is intended, like the others said, as an anti-estrogen(in-effect, aid in rising natural test).....if you are positive trione is not on the list, then you might be ok....but at the rate they are going, bet it will be, along with naturals, like creatine....wonder when vitamins and minerals will be banned.... |

Thanks for you two cents worth of oposition, but do you care to make an attempt to actually illiterate on your "disagreement"? If you are refering to my half-witted remark towards the NCAA, maybe you would care to explain youself, instead of blotting down a generic phrase as if you are a twelve-year-old with a mutant form of tourette's syndrome.
If you are refering to the first section of my responce, it was again a witty remark which did not pertain to the person's question. If you are refering to my actual valued reply to the persons question; it was not meant to be pharmacologically correct, just enought to make a possible spark in his prusuit of understading in the subject. If you wish to explain you stance, and possibly bring some enlightening material, that would be great, since a cheap responce like that is rather annoying. |

I am completely new to the bodybuilding arena and ask questions anywhere I can get educated answers. I am a 33 yr old female weighing 105 lbs at 5'3". I'm tired of being scrawny. I work out religiously and painfully and since I have no body fat hope to see muscle gains soon. Should I consider taking androstenetrione? What can I do to build bulk instead of stringy muscle fibers? I eat 7 meals per day and supplement with weight gainer. I don't want ot look like a man, just a strong muscular female. Anybody got any words of wisdom?

women and anti-estrogens sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me. i strongly think androstenetrione is NCAA banned. It's banned in natural bodybuilding competitions and NCAA is usually a bit stricter. I wouldnt take my chances if I were you, I dont think it would be worth it anyway.
to the gal, try making your own thread on this, odds are you're diet and training will need tweaking as I've yet to see a girl in our gym who lifts in a manner conducive to gaining musculature. -------------------- "I beat my body and make it my slave." ~1 Corinthians 9:26-27

AndrosteneTRIone is a molecule with three ketone linkages. The androsteneDIol is a DI-alcohol (that's two alcohols) and androstenedione is a DI-ketone. Ketones and alcohols have TOTALLY different reactivities in biochemical pathways. Also having two alcohol or ketone sites are not even CLOSELY similar to a molecule with three ketones on it. That's similar to saying acetone (dimethyl ketone OR dimethyl monoketone) is similar to acetic anhydride (dimethyl-diketone-ether). Acetic anhydride different oxidation states, conjugation, resonance forms of carbon whereas acetone really isn't too reactive other than a Claisen Condensation (only possible with a strong base and our bodies are pH=7 which is neutral).
Long story short, having three ketones is chemically not even closely related to two ketones. Two ketones are also different than two alcohols. If I had pictures of the molecules I would post a link to show the difference or just draw them on ChemDraw but I don't know the actual structures or the IUPAC names. |
