100% Whey Protein - Gold Standard

I tried the chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla and the strawberry was by far the best. My wife is chocolate lover and she still thought the strawberry was better. The vanilla is the worst. As for mixing they all mix well at first, but after being exposed to air a lot they start getting clumpy.

i have only tried strawberry. at first tiem i tried it i thought it was awesome. but then a aftertaste all of a sudden occured. if you could imagine what fart taste like, then thats what the aftertaste tasted like

Chocolate tastes great imo - just like chocolate milk.

You're nuts. Vanilla is by far the best one.

I swear that ON reformulated their 100% Whey about 2 years ago; I have actually stopped buying it after the umpteenth container that just did not mix with a spoon. The "old" formula mixed so easily it was like water in water...no matter what flavor I buy now, it always clumps!

...meanwhile I bought the first container of Pro Complex I've had in about 5 years, it was cheap on clearance at GNC so I though I'd give it a try, and it mixes instantly like the old 100% Whey did...

ON is a great product. with that said-i'm goona switch to dymatize for a while. heard good things . also about 5 bucks less than ON. we'll see. nice variety of flavors also. 21.95 at DA.com for 5lb jug.

I have tried both the chocolate and vanilla. Love them both because overall they are somewhat neutral flavors that you can add other things to when you want to change up the taste. I am about to order some more but I might try a different flavor just to how they are, probably strawberry. I heard one of them really sucks, but couldn't remember if it was the chocolate mint or the cookies-n-cream.

Considering I've never drank a protein shake before, I started with ON's Chocolate (double rich, no less), and now I look forward to my 2 shakes a day. tastes great, like rich chocolate milk, and since im using the shaker I have zero clumpage or grainy texture, just smooth chocolate milk. Of course Im mixing with whole milk as well. So far, so good, now im wondering if my 2 8oz shakes a day are enough

Be weary of the Strawberry...I also thought it was the best when I ordered a 2lb jug of it with a 2lb Vanilla after trying all the flavors except Rocky Road and Fruit Punch. After you order the 5lb and try it for 2 weeks, you get really really sick of the strawberry, UNLESS you're only drinking it with milk...with milk it's spectacular, but what isn't? I base all my reviews with WATER....chocolate and mint seem to be the best so far...

Island Roots - do you use a spoon or a shaker? I can't bring a shaker into work so I have to use a spoon........

ON Best List:

1.) Rocky Road- taste 10/10, my favorite whey
2.) Chocolate- taste 8/10, very good
3.) Vanilla- taste 7.5/10, great for adding fruits and flavorings
4.) Strawberry- taste 7/10, good at first but then gets old
5.) Tropical Punch- taste 7/10, I'm not a fruity flavor kinda guy

*Only had a sample of Chocolate Mint so I can't give it a full rating (but it was good)

I use a shaker all the time - have never used a glass and spoon.

I have tried lots of flavors from several brands and have to go with the ON Chocolate Mint #1 and Chocolate for #2 as my favs. I always use a blender so never have mixing problems. I even take a hand held mixing wand with me when I travel. Little more trouble but well worth it imo. Never have problems with clumps.

Also whoever said that mixing it with milk is the best was dead on. The flavor competely changes when you use water. I would be affraid to use milk with the new tropical punch flavor though.

chocolate mint is actually good. tastes good with just water.

for some reason the strawberry flavor tastes like chapstick to me... any of you guys feel me on this?

Are we talking about Gold Standard or Pro Complex here? I don't know about the chocolate, I tried the 10 lb bag and my first shake tasted funny. Subsquent shakes would always include that strange yet exclusive to protein powders taste. I'm not a fan of the chocolate, and I also tried the chocolate for Pro Complex. Pro Complex tasted even worse, the chocolate that is. I'm getting a 10 lb bag of strawberry, hope that will taste better. My first protein powder was GNC's Protein 95, Strawberry. I loved it. I hear that Pro Complex's Rocky Road tastes awesome...but when it comes down to it, no one can accurately judge which flavor is best for you because everyone has different preferences.

I have the On Vanilla, i love the taste but it just wont mix for me. It will be all clumpy at first then if you let it sit there for about 20 minutes, its gets more clumpy. But i just down it. Maybe i need to get a shaker.
